Lake effect snow bands started across the central and western portions of the Southern Tier late Monday night and moved northward throughout the day on Tuesday. Most of Western New York finally received lake effect snow accumulations including the Buffalo Metro area. And some areas received about half a foot of snow across Wyoming and Southern Erie counties, including Chaffee and Warsaw.

Most counties in Western New York reported at least a few weather related accidents. One driver lost control of her vehicle on Route 5 just south of Downtown Buffalo while going around a curve late Tuesday afternoon. "The damage is pretty severe to my front tire, I can't drive the car," the driver said.
