Pepper Spray causes Buffalo Police Car to smash into house

Residents on North Odgen Street in Buffalo still in shock tonight after a buffalo patrol car smashed into a home. Buffalo Police say the two officers in the car were responding to a call on Colorado Street when one of the officer's pepper spray containers accidentally discharged. The pepper spray then caused the police car to collide into another car, finally crashing into a North Odgen Street home.
Police now investigating exactly what happened.

"Due to the circumstances involved in the incident, I felt compelled to open a departmental investigation," said Buffalo Police Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson in a statement released today.

Both officers were treated and released from ECMC, the driver of the other car was given a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and another for driving with a suspended license. The accident is now being investigated by Buffalo Police.
