Stand-Off Eyewitness Account

Stand-Off Eyewitness Account

By Steve Barber

The drama unfolded on the 190. A man with a gun to his head in a stand-off with police backed up for miles. Jeremy Cole was in his car and drove past the stand-off when it just happened. "There was just one cop behind him and he had his gun like this in front of his hood. I though I saw a gun in his hand. We pulled up to see what was going on and thats when cops started swarming." said Cole.

Those in traffic were doing what they could to see what was going on. Some were even standing on the top of a truck to get a view. Others were pulling into a nearby by boat launch. In that location they could see everything. "Truthfully I think it's crazy. They should have rushed him already." said Rich Warden.

Even Niagara Street was packed with people lining the streets and on roof tops to watch the drama unfold. "The swat teams moved in and they were at the window where he was. There was an explosion in front of the car and then the ambulance pulled up." said Patrick Andrzejak.

It was a crowd that couldn't take their eyes off the drama. A crowd that, when it was over, cheered the outcome. "Ya it ended good. No one hurt." said Mike Bellaus.
