A disturbing story about a little dog who lost its life in a senseless act of violence. The dog was apparently stolen from its yard -- then discarded like a piece of litter.

"I just want them caught. I want to know why. Why would you do this?" Renee Torrence can't understand how anyone could be so cruel as to hurt her miniature pinscher. 8 month old Sisco went missing from her yard last Friday. It was right around that time that someone called the Buffalo Animal Shelter -- after seeing a small black dog being thrown from a car window on the outbound Kensington near Grider.

"At that time he was very upset, couldn't give me a description of the car. We quickly dispatched our dog control officers who responded within three minutes. Unfortunately within that time frame the dog was struck by a car," said Dave Lavango of the Buffalo Animal Shelter.

Torrence found out what happened when she went to the shelter Saturday to look for her dog. She's heartbroken over what happened and says her rotweiller is misses his playmate. "Those are my children. My children. My babies. They were inseparable. They would curl up on the couch together. Wherever the big one was you saw the little one."

She's hoping someone will come forward with information that will help track down whoever did this. "If anyone, anyone saw anything please please call," said Torrence.

If you think you know something that will help investigators track down those responsible for this terrible act, call the Buffalo Animal Shelter at 851-5694.
