Instead of being overjoyed by the news that Lynn DeJac is cleared of her daughter's murder today, DeJac is upset that the District Attorney now says her daughter died of a cocaine overdose.
DeJac says her 13-year-old daughter was not a drug user. She and her attorneys believe the amount of cocaine in her system was extremely small and that there was no cocaine in her brain. They believe Dennis Donahue, DeJac's former boyfriend, could have spread the trace of cocaine to the daughter because he was using cocaine.
"My daughter was going to become a lawyer," says DeJac. "My daughter was a very kind girl. She looked out more for me than I did for her. And to be an honor roll student you cannot possibly be on drugs."
DeJac says she still believes her daughter was murdered. She hopes the Buffalo police's Cold Case Squad continues to investigate the case.
