Short skirts, fishnet stockings, skin tight, low-cut. If you think it looks like Victoria Secret is designing your daughter's Halloween costumer this year, you're not alone.

"Some of the choices are a little risque," said Lisa Wendling of Grand Island while shopping with her daughter for a Halloween costume Monday night. "She wants to be a bumble bee, but she has to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath it."

The bumble bee costume is strapless. The skirt is short. "I'm going to make her change a little bit of the costume," Wendling said.

While sexually suggestive costumes might be a fun way for adults to celebrate the holiday, provocative outfits for children and pre-teen girls can be dangerous.

"I think it's sending a message that kids need to look very sexy and attractive," said Lora Park, an associate professor of psychology at University at Buffalo.
