The Lewiston Fire Company is asking people in the village to be careful about where they donate their money.
The fire company just sent out a mailer asking for donations, but now some people in the village have gotten separate mailers asking for donations to the "Volunteer Firefighter Alliance."
Tax records show that the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance is a non-profit organization that operates out of Tennessee. The Lewiston Fire Company is not affiliated with that non-profit, and doesn't receieve any donations from it.
