A Buffalo man is behind bars after the Erie County Sheriff's Office seized large amounts of marijuana and cash during two raids on Thursday.

Investigators say the first raid occurred on LaSalle Avenue, where forty pounds of marijuana were seized.

A second raid occurred on Elmwood Avenue, where over $700,000 was discovered.

According to the sheriff's office, 44-year-old Demetrius Johnson was arrested and charged following the raids.

Johnson is charged with a felony count of criminal possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.

Investigators say Johnson is a three-time convicted drug felon in New York State and is a twice-convicted federal felon on drug related charges.
