Jamestown man arrested for holding woman against her will

A Jamestown man has been arrested for holding a woman against her will and abusing her.

Police say 31-year-old Joshua Turybury is charged with kidnapping, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood Circulation and criminal mischief.

According to Jamestown Police, officers were called to WCA Hospital on Sunday morning after a woman said she was held against her will at an apartment on McDaniel Avenue for two days.

Officers say the victim identified Turybury and said that she was forced to stay in the apartment while being subjected to mental, verbal and physical abuse. The woman sustained severe bruising, a broken nose and chipped tooth while being held captive.

According to police, officers responded to the location of the incident and arrested Turybury.

Authorities say evidence found within the apartment confirmed the victim's account.

Turybury is being held pending arraignment.
