Buffalo Police say they are making very good progress with the investigation of the Anchor Bar shooting that took the life of line-cook Freddie Dizon, 32, on Friday May 20th.

A second person was injured in the shooting when he was grazed by a bullet.

Witnesses say a masked man entered the kitchen area of the popular restaurant and fired the fatal shots.

7 Eyewitness News has obtained the police calls from that evening courtesy of Broadcastify.

However, many are now wondering if law enforcement are closer to solving the murder after a police chase on Grand Island that resulted in the arrest of Gregory Ramos, 24, from Buffalo.

Officially, police say Ramos was wanted for a felony domestic incident in Buffalo that occurred on Fargo Avenue.

But sources are confirming to 7 Eyewitness News that Ramos is the driver for the get-away car after the Anchor Bar shooting.

Ramos was spotted in Niagara Falls on Monday night and chased onto Grand Island by Niagara Falls Police, NYS Police, Erie County Sheriffs and other agencies.

The suspect threw things from his car before crashing and trying to flee on foot.

Ramos was apprehended and turned over to Buffalo Police.

Police have now charged Ramos with strangulation and assault connected to the Buffalo domestic incident and he is being held on a $250,000 bail in the Erie County Holding Center.

Ramos is also facing several Vehicle and Traffic charges from Niagara Falls Police because of the police chase.

Niagara Falls Police tell 7 Eyewitness News that the department is talking with Buffalo Police to make sure those charges help Buffalo's investigation and does not cause any complications for the case.
