The big Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings is still a bargain. That's according to the American Farm Bureau Federation. Researchers say the average cost of a Thanksgiving day dinner for 10 people this year is $49.41, up just $0.37 from last year. Turkey prices actually dipped a bit, while butter is up about 30 percent.

Imagine having an international television crew watch you cook your Thanksgiving dinner. That's what will happen at one local home. A German reality TV crew will be arriving in Buffalo on Wednesday and spending nearly a week following a Western New Yorker, Rainer Hoeglmeier, who is a popular recording artist in Germany. He got his big break on a European show similar to American Idol. Now he is also one of the owners of bangs Hair Salons locally. bangs will open its 6th location in Orchard Park on Saturday, Nov. 29 and the TV crew will document it all. The event runs from 9am to noon. It's complete with grand opening prizes and is open to the public.

As the holiday shopping season gets underway, the majority of New Yorkers plan to spend about the same as last year.  The Siena College Research Institute says fifty-nine percent of New Yorkers will stick to last year's levels. 32 percent plan to spend less, while seven percent intend to spend more. 64 percent are budgeting under $600.
