CASPER, Wyoming (Associated Press) - A New York state man has been killed in an accident while bicycling on a road in Wyoming.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 59-year-old Gary Griffin, of Hamburg, New York, was riding with a group of bicyclists when he was struck by a pickup truck outside Casper.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. Monday on Wyoming 220 about 25 miles south of Casper.
Patrol officials say Griffin for unknown reasons turned left across the highway in front of a pickup driven by a woman from Bar Nunn. Griffin died after being helicoptered to a hospital.
Patrol officials say the driver was unable to avoid colliding with Griffin and won't be cited.
Bicyclists also have been killed in vehicle collisions in Sheridan and Casper in the past month.
