BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) The North Park Theatre is once again open on Hertel Avenue. Poor building conditions forced the theatre to close its doors in June of 2013.
“The theatre was in complete decay,” said Tom Eoannou, North Park Theatre Owner. “There were ten foot holes in the ceilings.”
Private investors came together to do extensive renovations to the theatre, restoring the cinema to its original beauty.
The renovations cost over 500,000 dollars. Tonight, Western New Yorkers came from all over to view the beauty of the newly renovated space.
“I had to get out of the house,” said Leo, Buffalo resident. “I told my cousin I would treat him to the show tonight. I used to come here and watch about seventy-five cartoons in a row!”
“Our children came here as youngsters,” said Ken Barker. “My wife and I came here, and this theatre shows the films I like!”
