The reward for information connected to a fatal hit-and-run in Cheektowaga has gone up.  Erie County Crime Stoppers announced Thursday morning that a $1,000 reward is now being offered for information that could lead to an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run in front of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport August 8th.

55-year-old Robert Prigl was killed crossing Genesee Street on his way to the airport when he was hit.  The suspect drove off.

Police and Crime Stoppers say the vehicle that hit Prigl likely has or had some type of front-end damage, perhaps on the fender, hood, grill or windshield.  They also believe that it's a light-colored car, and may be silver, white, beige or light blue.  Police also say they believe the car is an older-model General Motors car, and may be from the late 70s or early 80s.  They say it may be a Buick Regal, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Riviera, Cadillac Eldorado or a Cadillac DeVille.

Crime Stoppers has also released some suspicious activities they're asking people to look out for regarding this case.  They're asking people to be on the lookout for anyone whose car has unexplained damage, or who may say they hit a deer, or who has a car that was recently repaired and the owner doesn't want to go through their insurance to pay.  They also say the car may be parked or stored in a garage even though it wasn't previously, and the owner may be trying to get replacement parts online.

If you have any information on this hit-and-run, call Crime Stoppers at 867-6161 or Cheektowaga Police at 686-3580.
