Professional photographer Charlie Hahn has seen some incredible things over the years and photographed many of them. Concerts, sporting events, exotic locations and fascinating people have all been captured through his camera lens.

Charlie left Buffalo a couple of decades ago, but this week he's back to open a one-man show of some of his work."Chippewa Street 1975- A Photographic Essay" is a collection of pictures he took forty years ago when he was in High School. They show Chippewa Street the way that it was.  It was a school project that some of his teachers were not thrilled about. Charlie says "they didn't think it was a good idea, so with a little prodding they allowed me to do it."

The street in those days was "a red light section, full of homeless, alcoholism, drugs and violence" according to Charlie. The photographs are a vivid time capsule of a place that doesn't really exist anymore.

Charlie Hahn's series of photos can be seen at Spot Coffee at Delaware and Chippewa, and the pictures are available for purchase at his website.
