BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A routine premise check through Black Rock Canal County Park led deputies to the arrest of two people in connection to heroin use.
According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, around 3:00 p.m. on August 27, deputies were performing a premise check when they saw two people in a car acting suspiciously. When the deputies approached the car they saw bags of heroin and a hypodermic needle in plain sight.
Deputies say both people, Haley Diblasi, 21, and Alexander Dracup, 23, were ordered to get out of the car and Diblasi threw something under the vehicle which was later identified as the package of heroin.
A search of the vehicle found several needles, metal tins, and some marijuana, according to officials.
The sheriff's office says both were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and loitering using a controlled substance.
Deputies say Diblasi was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Dracup was charged with possession of hypodermic needles.
Both were taken to the Erie County Holding center where officials say they found some Suboxone on Diblasi. She was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and a felony count of promoting prison contraband.
According to the sheriff's office, Diblasi was held pending her arraignment in Buffalo City Court and was later released on bail. Dracup was released on bail.
