Buffalo. Beer. Beautiful new homes. All three will come together this week as Habitat for Humanity sets the table for 'Hammer & Ales,' a fundraiser that is part of the organization's 'The House Beer Built' campaign.
'Hammer and Ales' - which will feature beer, food tastings from local restaurants, and auctions - will take place Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at The Barrel Factory, 65 Vandalia Street in the Old First Ward. Tickets are $45 each.
Habitat hopes to raise $80,000, which is the cost of one house sponsorship for a family.
One-hundred percent of proceeds will go toward building a home for a family in need.
Habitat for Humanity subsidizes the cost of a new home through grants, donations and volunteer labor. The new homeowner helps build the home and repays an interest-free, 30-year mortgage.
