BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) They're planning to roll out the teal carpet this weekend at a fun event to raise awareness of a serious and deadly disease, ovarian cancer.
The "Teal Carpet Affair" takes place on Saturday in Downtown Buffalo, and the first 200 people in the door will receive a cap with the ovarian cancer ribbon on it.
Ovarian cancer is hard to detect and often goes unnoticed. That's why organizers say it should get as much awareness and recognition as breast cancer.
The "Teal Carpet Affair" is a night of entertainment -- including food, drinks, and a chance to win prizes. It's Saturday, October 16th at Social Lounge on Franklin Street in Buffalo, starting at 7pm.
Tickets are available at the UB ticket office or online. Click on News Links for more information. All the money raised will go to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
