Smoking May Affect The Brain

(WKBW/ABC) We all know that using tobacco causes cancer and other diseases, and now we're learning that it can also make your memory go up in smoke.

A new study is now linking heavy smoking in midlife
with a dramatic increase in dementia later on.

It found that one quarter of the participants who smoked developed dementia, but those who reported smoking more than two packs a day at the time of the survey had a *one hundred percent* greater risk of a dementia diagnosis than non-smokers.
