Get ready for some in your face anti-smoking ads. The New York State Department of Health is releasing two public service announcements designed to give smokers a wake-up call.
The ads are graphic and emotional to get the attention of smokers and encourage them to quit.
In one, a surgeon squeezes out thick fatty deposits from the heart artery of a smoker. Another ad shows a young child getting separated from his mother, reminding viewers that smoking can lead to the loss of a parent.
For more information on kicking the habit, call the New York State Smokers' Quitline at 1-866-NY-QUITS.
