(WKBW/ABC News) If your parent has ever had a heart attack, this story is for you!

A new study finds that even when taking into account risk factors, having a parental history of a heart attack increased the risk that you will have a heart attack by an average of 74%.

The study revealing these other key statistics: If one parent had a heart attack over age 50, there's 67% increase in risk. If one parent had a heart attack younger than age 50, there's a 136% risk. If both parents had a heart attack over age 50, there's a 190% risk, and if both parents had a heart attack younger than 50, there's a 226% increase in risk.
