New Anti-Smoking Campaign Unveiled

(WKBW) It's another attempt to convince smokers to kick the habit. Health officials are unveiling new, hard hitting television ads that highlight the cost of smoking, not only to your wallet, but to your life and your health.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute, along with the American Heart Association and the New York State Department of Health teamed up to create three new television advertisements that show the physical impacts that two longtime smokers have suffered as a result of smoking.

There are more than 25-thousand deaths linked to smoking in New York State every year, and the medical costs of treating smoking-caused diseases in the state top 8 billion dollars each year.
