The community is gearing up for a big event coming this fall to help fight a deadly disease!
It's the kickoff for the 15th Annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk to be held in October.
Sponsors of the event, breast cancer survivors, team captains and others in the community gathered at the Buffalo Niagara Marriott to get motivated for the walk.
Thanks to events like Making Strides, strides have been made in breast cancer, from more awareness to better treatments, but still more than 13-hundred Western New York women will find out this year that they have the disease.
Last year's walk raised more than $500,000 for the cause. This year's walk will be held on Sunday, October 3 in Niagara Square. For more information on how you can participate call 1-800-227-2345 or head to our Homepage and click on News Links.
