Does Heart Rate Determine Life Expectancy?

(WKBW/CNN) Could your heartbeat determine how long you're going to live?

New research coming out of Canada shows the higher the heart rate, the higher the risk of heart trouble and death.

Researchers found that adults who had heart rates greater then 78 beats per minute had an almost a 40 percent increased risk of heart problems than patients who had heart rates of 58 beats or less per minute.

Those with higher rates were also about 75 percent more likely to die from heart trouble.

Experts know that generally, the more fit you are, the slower your resting heart rate.
