A warning for people who are on calcium supplements to protect their bones. A new study says the extra calcium could be hurting your heart.
A team of international researchers found that people taking calcium supplements, without vitamin D, had a 30 percent greater risk of heart attack. It seems that the risk is only when taking supplements. Calcium from dairy products is not linked to any heart trouble. Researchers say that calcium deposits in the arteries are what triggers the increased chance of heart disease.
