Students in the Hamburg Central School District have had snow days all week, but because of the ongoing weather-related issues, they won’t have to return to school until December 1.

On Saturday, the district started making automated calls to parents to let them know what was going on. Fifteen roofers will be on site Sunday removing snow from the roofs, and large mounds of snow will be removed from the parking lots.

The school says their facilities are in good condition, but there are also concerns about bus access to neighborhoods and pedestrian safety, and that prompted them to make this closure.

Due to this change, December 22 and 23 will now be attendance days for students. And instead of having a Thanksgiving Dinner Drive, it will be a holiday dinner drive instead, with food distribution to take place on December 15.

Orchard Park Central Schools have also announced they will be closed Monday, November 24 due to the snowstorms. The vote on a capital improvement project scheduled for November 18 has been re-scheduled to November 25.

Schools in East Aurora will also be closed Monday.
