A Buffalo man now admits he triggered a police chase and chain reaction crash that left another driver seriously hurt.

Antonio Gutierrez, 21, pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court Friday to vehicular assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Gutierrez sped away from officers trying to detain him as they were serving a search warrant on Weiss Street on March 29th.

Moments later, his speeding car slammed into another vehicle on Seneca Street, forcing that vehicle to hit a First Student school bus.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious spinal cord injuries.

None of the six students on the school bus nor the bus driver were hurt.

Gutierrez faces up to six and-a-half years in prison when he is sentenced on November 8th.
