Governor Cuomo announced a statewide crackdown on DWI's for the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

State Police and local law enforcement will be participating in the nationwide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, according to a press release from the governor's office.

As a part of the campaign, law enforcement will patrol in unmarked vehicles and administer DWI checkpoints.

Last Labor Day weekend police made 220 DWI arrests and issued more than 11,000 tickets.

Erie County Sheriff's Office also announced their plans for the holiday weekend.

Several extra roving patrols will be added to enforce DWI laws, the Sheriff's Office reports. They're being funded through Erie County STOP-DWI.
