If you ever find yourself getting annoyed by auto-play and full-page pop-up ads online, you're not alone.

Well, starting in February, Google Chrome will be blocking those types of ads, and any others that fall short of new industry standards.

The standards were proposed by the Coalition for Better Ads, a technology and media industry group.

Google will block ads from websites that fall short of the standards for more than 30 days.

Sites will have the option of appealing, but must first remove all ads that break the guidelines.
