BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) A landmark building in Buffalo's historic Allentown neighborhood is also getting some well deserved recognition during the Preservation Conference week.
The Twentieth Century Club on Delaware Avenue has now been officially designated among the national register of historic places.
The Twentieth Century Club is home to a women's club that was founded back in 1894.
The building was designed by the legendary E.B. Green, and played an important role in the Pan Am Exposition held in the early part of the 1900's.
Current Twentieth Century Club President Jan Kennedy told Eyewitness News she is excited and proud that the club and the building it occupies have been given this landmark status.
Political dignitaries were on hand Wednesday for the event. The designation was made by the United States Department of the Interior.
