1 box of white cake mix (and additional ingredients called for on the box)
1 pound bacon.
1 can vanilla frosting
Mix cake batter according to package directions. Set aside.
Cook bacon, set aside and crumble when cool.
Cut apple (skinned) into small pieces. Saute the pieces in butter over medium heat until softened. Spoon apple into cake batter. Spoon half of the bacon into the batter as well and mix. Fill cupcake cups and bake according to box directions.
When cooled, frost with maple-flavored frosting (mix vanilla frosting with maple extract to taste), then dip cupcakes in the remaining crumbled bacon.
