Fire Engulfs Two Homes in Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (WKBW - Two homes were destroyed and five more damaged during an overnight blaze in Buffalo.

The fire broke out at about 3:30 in the morning in a vacant home. It quickly spread next door. Residents fled, escaping moments before oxygen tanks exploded.

The Red Cross is assisting five adults and one child who lived in the second home.

Fire marshals were on the scene as part of the investigation.

Officials estimate the damage at about $300-thousand.

The first home that caught fire has a "history of fires," according to crews on the scene.
