Holland, N.Y. (WKBW) - You may love the scent of fresh cut Christmas tree. For some it's a family tradition, others always wanted to do but just don't know how. Country Pines Farms in Holland makes it easy.

“We have you cut trees and pre cut trees and families have made this part of their tradition for the past 25 plus years,” Owner Ann Zywiczynski said.

One of those families is my family. We've been going there for quite some time. These are some pictures of the kids in the snow and all of us cutting trees. We bundle up my little man Brayden and took him out into the field.

“People come here and they take their sleds out and their kids out. When they cut their trees they have fun playing in the snow and making snowman we had a lot of snowman made last weekend,” Zywiczynski said.

My family also built this snowman but our main goal was to cut down the perfect tree or two trees in my case.

“We take good care of them, we herbicide them, we trim them and take car of them very well. They look good when customers come. Frasier furs are the biggest sellers. The Colorado Blue are also very popular,” Ray Zywiczynski said.

If you are not the type to cut down your own tree but want the experience, they have people to help. There is also a special place to warm your toes.

“They come into a gift shop to get their hot chocolate and popcorn. They just make a fun day of it in our town,” Zywiczynski said.

Owners Ray and Ann Zywiczynski said the success of this business is two fold. It helps them continue the tradition, while also benefiting the community.

“Because our farm is located in the hills of Holland. They are going to lunch and dinner at local restaurants. We are proud to be part of that and the way people are experiencing Western New York,” Zywiczynski said.

After we picked and cut the tree, Brayden even attached our trees to the top of his toy car, with the help of his cousin Noah. We headed all home to decorate.
