The cold temperatures and snow are causing some treacherous winter road conditions, so when you go out, ER doctors say you should always be prepared for braving the elements, even if you think you are not leaving the car.

They recommend having blankets, water and food in the car. Also, carry extra hats, gloves and even boots to keep warm and help prevent frostbite.

In bad weather, it's also a good idea to keep a supply of all necessary
medications with you in case you're stranded for a long period of time.

If you do get stuck, you can keep your car running to stay warm, but watch the video to find out what danger that could pose.
