BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Dr. Raul Vazquez, of Urban Family Practice in Buffalo, visited Channel 7's Eyewitness News This Morning Tuesday to talk about the recent announcement that Sheehan Memorial Hospital in the city will close down.

Dr. V discussed with Patrick Taney and Ginger Geoffery the various areas of medical care that Sheehan could potentially pursue, including treatment for people who are HIV positive, or suffering from mental illness.

Dr. Vazquez told Eyewitness News that he, and a group of physicians he is working with for other health care initiatives, will meet to send a proposal to New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Shah on strategies that might work to keep Sheehan a viable operation.

In addition, Dr. V is working on a "Health Home" project where patients will be monitored and evaluated in their home environment to make sure they are following preventative and prescribed treatments.
