Creekview Restaurant chef and author Mary Ann Giordano wrote the book with her family in mind.
The Saint Joseph’s Day Table Cookbook is the only book dedicated to Saint Joseph’s Day – the table, the recipes, the symbols, the traditions – which is celebrated on March 19th by Italians and Italian-Americans across the nation.
This is a particularly vibrant tradition in Buffalo and Western New York, but one which has been waning. Chef Giordano and her father, Dr. Paul B. Giordano, have spent the past decade researching, collecting traditions, recipes, and symbols. This 136-page, full color book which contains more than 100 recipes is their effort to ensure that this tradition remains alive for generations to come.
The Saint Joseph’s Day Table Cookbook is yet another way to showcase Buffalo and its rich traditions. It is also available for sale for $24.95 online at www.BuffaloHeritage.com and Amazon.com, and will be in area bookstores on March 7th.
