Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW) - The hair, the dress, the glass slippers.
This could be none other than the beautiful Cinderella. Lancaster resident Sarah Hamilton takes on this magical role.
“I'm a substitute teacher. I love hanging out with kids and ever since I was little I loved bringing joy into other people's lives,” Hamilton said.
For many children, including Ashley Harris, 7, the joy comes in the form of a nice dress and some glittery pixie dust. Cinderella or Hamilton as she is known in the real world, owns a business called Fairytales Delivered. She visits birthday parties and other events for a profit. It is her part-time activities that will bring a tear to anyone’s eye.
“I started doing charity work. I come to Children's Hospital once a month. I also do other fundraisers around Western New York,” Hamilton said.
Little Ashley and her mom Toddie Rogers were in the hospital for treatment.
“Ashley is not feeling well. She has a stomach issue and she has a condition called Hydrocephalus, which is fluid on the brain and she can't regulate it,” Rogers said.
They said it is never fun to be the patient but Cinderella brought hope and more to Ashley and her mom.
“I'm glad. Although she is missing school I think this is really making her day,” Rogers said.
Hamilton has the character down pat. Even the angelic voice reinforces the children's beliefs.
For Hamilton, she couldn't think of a better way to help kids who need it most. She said Cinderella is guaranteed to bring a smile to their faces.
”Although I'm giving these kids a gift, they have given me so much more than I could have imagined. They fill my heart with joy and I'm so glad to be a part of it,” Hamilton said.
