Kavinoky Theatre announces another Buffalo Premiere
A.R. Gurney’s BLACK TIE
Buffalo, NY: The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D’Youville College, will continue its season with the Western New York premiere of A.R. Gurney's BLACK TIE. Opening on January 6, the production, directed by Chris Kelly, features Morgan Chard, Saul Elkin, Josephine Hogan, Patrick Moltane and Peter Palmisano. The Kavinoky Theatre’s design team of David King (set), Brian Cavanagh (lights), Tom Makar (sound), and Dixon Reynolds (costumes) is pulling out all the stops for this exciting Buffalo premiere.
Father of the groom, Curtis, simply wants to make a memorable toast. But before he is able to raise his glass, he must defend the time-honored ways of his past, including his attire. Cultures clash when a surprise guest is announced, threatening to throw convention out the window. Curtis finds that balancing the standards of his late father and the needs of his future family may prove too messy for a black tie affair.
The Kavinoky Theatre is thrilled to present the four-week, limited engagement of BLACK TIE from January 6 through January 29, 2012. Performances will take place Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $36 with discounts available to military, seniors, students and groups. Call (716) 829-7668 for more information or to order tickets.
