BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The Anchor Bar is a staple here in Western New York.
It opened back in 1935 but is known more for what happened one fateful Friday night back in 1964.
That's when owners Frank and Teressa Bellissimo invented what is now known as the Buffalo Wing around the world.
"She had these chicken wings and she deep fried them and she served them with this red hot sauce and she brought them to the bar and that's history," said Anchor Bar Manager Ivano Toscani.
Since then, the wings have been as hot as their sauces.
Toscani said, they sell about two-thousand pounds of wings every single day and sell their hot sauce as far as Japan.
