Ellicottville, N.Y. (WKBW) - It’s just the beginning of an exciting weekend in Ellicottville New York. Brian McFadden is Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

“We want to welcome everybody to our 38th annual Fall Festival. The forecast is beautiful and sunny high sixties and the leaves are in full color,” McFadden said.

He said there are so many fun things to do with friends or with the little ones.

“People can expect to see 250 art vendors, food vendors, craft vendors. Everything you have grown to love in Ellicottville,” McFadden said.

McFadden also said high in the mountains of the ski resort just minutes from the village there is more.

“Up at the resort at Holiday Valley Sky High Adventure Land is open with chairlift rides each day. Cook outs and entertainment at the top and bottom of the mountains,” McFadden said.

The businesses in Ellicottville are also working hard to be prepared for the thousands of people coming to take over their town and spend money at their businesses. Dan Minner is the Head Brewer at Ellicott Brewing Company on Monroe Street.

“This weekend is something everybody should come down to experience,” Head Brewer Dan Minner said.

He said the economic impact makes a big difference for many business owners.

“They come all year around but this one weekend event for small businesses it can really mean life or death as far as getting through the year. The summer can be slow so October Fest really helps a lot of businesses,” Minner said.

As for festivalgoers, they all have their favorite part of the three-day-long event.

“It brings a lot of energy to the village and it’s really fun to be around and see everyone enjoying the fall weather. It's a lovely village and I can see why people come here because it's so charming,” Joanne Joseph said.
