NORTH TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) --

Errick Road Elementary School fifth graders from 1991 turned out today for a special event at the school on Flag Day

The students who graduated from the school, which is in the Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District, in 1991, helped uncover a time capsule buried during their last days in the elementary school.

They found out digging up the sealed PVC piping was no easy task. After 40 minutes of digging, the capsule came out...and after some hacksaw work to open it up...out came the contents.

Everything from a Homer Simpson doll to a seasonal Pepsi can were unearthed. A favorite was the class shirt from 1991...and just how small it looked to those who graduated.

EWN will have an extended look at the capsule and it's contents Wednesday on EWN at 5pm...stay tuned!
