BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) A little rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of over 4,000 “soldiers” who marched on the grounds of Red Cross headquarters last Friday evening for BASH*2012.
The final numbers are still being tabulated, but the 14th annual military-themed event raised over $360,000 dollars to support the American Red Cross mission of preventing, preparing for and responding to disaster in Erie & Niagara Counties.
“It’s a real testament to our team and the Western New York community that BASH*2012 raised more money to support our lifesaving mission than ever before, despite a difficult economy and less than ideal weather conditions,” said Nancy Blaschak, Executive Director. “It’s a privilege to work with a terrific group of talented and dedicated staff and volunteers, and I can’t thank our sponsors and supporters enough for making The BASH the party of the summer this and every year.”
Guests dressed in their best military gear for the opportunity to bid on unique auction items donated by various community members, sample food and drink from some of Buffalo’s finest restaurants, all while enjoying the music of the DJ’s from Signature Entertainment and a live performance by the one and only Lance Diamond.
