DEPEW, NY ( WKBW ) Depew Police Detective Scott Hossfeld told Eyewitness News that on Wednesday morning at about 3a.m., a citizen called in to report suspicious activity at Collectors Emporium.
The location on George Urban Boulevard is the same address where a taser was allegedly used in a botched robbery attempt on Tuesday.
Officers responded and were told by a witness that 2 black males had been banging on the door.
Officers noticed that the phone lines had been cut and the audible alarm was down.
They searched the scene and discovered a suspect sleeping in a vehicle near the store. While questioning the suspect, officers heard noises coming from a nearby field and found two more suspects. The pair attempted to flee the scene. One was caught immediately and one was caught a few hours later.
All three suspects were arraigned Wednesday morning on charges of attempted burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglar tools, and illegal use of a police scanner.
They are currently in the Erie County Holding Center.
In the story you saw Tuesday, FIRST on 7...The owner of the Collectors Emporium on George Urban Boulevard got the shock of his life, literally!
Two black males and a light skinned female allegedly burst into the store around 10:45a.m. Tuesday morning and shot the owner in the chest with a Taser gun. Unfortunately for the shooter, only one of the Taser prongs penetrated the owners chest.
As the partially working Taser stunned the store owner, he reached for his pistol--sending the three would-be robbers fleeing.
Witnesses say the three were seen fleeing into an apartment complex nearby. They were last seen getting into a white "SUV" style vehicle.
