Western New York (WKBW)
Damaging winds and large hail were reported by the National Weather Service from severe storms Monday, the ripped through Western New York.
Numerous trees were down in a half mile wide swath around the intersection of 20A and Transit Road in East Aurora. In Fredonia there were two reports of trees down including a 10 foot high tree. One blocked a road. Also a row of trees were down on Route 16 in Sardinia.
As for large hail, the East Aurora Police Department reported inch size hail accumulated in the city.
EWN was on location after a woman on Davidson Avenue in the City of Buffalo was struck by lightning while sitting in her car. She was taken to ECMC by Rural Metro Paramedics to be checked out.
Signal lights had no power at Olympic Avenue and Kensington in the City of Buffalo after lightning struck there.
