BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) KISS 98.5FM threw a summer party for thousands of their fans Saturday night at Coca Cola Field in downtown Buffalo.
The popular hot hits radio station invited several up and coming acts to town. The lineup included: Carley Ray Jepson, Dev, Chiddy Bang, Neon Hitch, Cady Groves, and Chris Rene.
While the young people in attendance recognized the musicians and the music, some of the parents who brought fans to the field were not so familiar with the music. However, they were entertained by the energy of the artists, the radio personalities, and visiting Buffalo Bills like Stevie Johnson and David Nelson who thrilled the crowd.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute was a major sponsor, and showcased winning students from Western New York who raised tens of thousands of dollars to fund cancer research through the popular "Bald For Bucks" promotions at their schools.
Eyewitness News was backstage with "Dev" who told us that she enjoys meeting her fans, and has been to Buffalo before. Some of the concertgoers got to participate in a "meet and greet" with the artists, photographed by award winning photographer Bob Mussel.
Entercom radio Program Director Sue O'Neill coordinated the show with General Manager Larry Robb. There were weather concerns Saturday morning with wind and rain, but any thought to cancel the show diminished as the day went on.
Eyewitness News will have a feature on the "Kiss The Summer Hello 2012" show later this week on "Eyewitness News This Morning."
