House Explosion In Niagara County

TOWN OF NIAGARA, NY ( WKBW ) A home on the 3200 block of Military Road exploded early Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple fire and rescue agencies raced to the scene to fight the structure fire that followed the explosion.

Neighbors were rocked from their homes and backyards when the explosion occurred. Reports from the scene say a passing motorist had minor injuries and a neighbor near the scene had minor injuries.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the home was not occupied at the time of the devastating incident.

From the Niagara County Sheriff's office:

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls reporting a house that exploded with a fire. Emergency responders are on location at this time. The incident and investigation are both currently ongoing. Military Road will be closed between Lockport Road and Packard Road for several hours.

According to NITTEC.org route 265 Northbound is closed from Packard Road to Lockport Road in the Town of Niagara (1.0 miles) because of this structure fire.

Route 265 Southbound is closed from Lockport Road to Packard Road in the Town of Niagara (1.0 miles) because of structure fire.
