Fatal Accident In Downtown Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW / release ) A rollover crash involving two vehicles claimed the life of one person at approximately 3:45a.m. Monday in downtown Buffalo. The incident occurred at Delaware Avenue and Tupper Street.

Buffalo Police Accident investigators believe one vehicle was traveling east on Tupper, when it struck a vehicle traveling north on Delaware.

Investigators say the female driver of the vehicle heading north on Delaware, was partially ejected, when the Pontiac Minivan she was driving rolled over.

The female victim, believed to be in her early 20's, died at the scene.

It appears four other people were in the minivan. They've been
taken to hospitals to be treated.

The male driver of the other vehicle, a black sedan, appears to have been uninjured.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation by the Buffalo Police Accident Investigation Unit.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The area around Delaware and Tupper was closed for several hours while the accident scene was cleared up.
