Hamburg, NY (WKBW)
It's an annual tradition along the shorelines on Lake Erie at the end of summer.
The Great Lakes Beach Sweep took place early Saturday morning at Woodlawn State Park and Evangola State Park. People were asked to do their part to help mother nature... The "clean sweepers" worked at over 300 beaches in New York Saturday.
Thousands of Volunteers from local groups, students, scouts, dive clubs, civic organizations, corporations, government agencies and the general public picked up litter and debris.
EWN cameras were on hand today as young and old alike picked up old fishing lures, tires, logs and other junk cluttering the shoreline.
