West Seneca, NY (WKBW)

With patriotic spirit in mind this Flag Day, fifth grade classes at Winchester Elementary in West Seneca reenacted the Battle of Gettysburg and other parts of the Civil War Tuesday.

The reenactment took place behind the school, at 650 Harlem Road in West Seneca. The fifth grade classes of Torrence Jones and Thomas Holmes, as well as the special education class of Jeffrey Schneider, played the roles of Union and Confederate troops, participating in the "battle" and singing popular songs from the Civil War era. The activities concluded with troops reciting the Gettysburg Address.
