CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) Westmatic Corporation is one of the more recent companies to set up shop here in Western New York.

The Swedish maker of giant "Wash Systems" is now up and running in Cheektowaga with twenty local employees. It makes self contained automatic wash systems for firms that have to clean things like diesel locomotives, buses, transport trucks or subway cars.

Westmatic designs, builds, installs and then maintains these systems all over the world. The company has built more than two thousand washes so far, most are being operated in Europe, but now it hopes to expand further into the North American market with it's operation here in Cheektowaga.

The company says it's location here is close to Canada and centrally located to service customers on both sides of the border.
